Ascension News: Soul Purpose and the Hero’s Journey.

Joseph Campbell was a mythologist who looked at the similarities between the myths of different cultures. And his studies resulted in what has come to be called the monomyth. This is a universal story structure, a template that takes us through the spiritual journey or path that moves through a sequence of stages. It begins with the child who is born into a reality with rules and belief systems. The child must break free of these rules or transcend them to find his or her own path to adulthood. This template also represents our search for deeper meaning. Our search for our soul purpose, why we are here and what we are here to do.
